Knitters That ROCK!
The weekend was so fabulous, so amazing, so inclusive and warm and fuzzy I want to throw up and I was there. My apologies to all of you that weren't. I'd be bitter too. If you feel the need to tell us to shut the fuck up already, I will completely understand and in no way will you be held accountable. But, the truth hurts sometimes and it ROCKED!
The purpose of this post, though, is to set the record straight. As you read on and on and on about the glories of this past weekend, and there were many, people may, in their excitement, tend to exaggerate. For instance, if you should read a post by a blogger that you usually trust to tell it like it is in their accounts, and you begin to read about how a panic may (or may not) have been started by the intrepid blogger that goes by the quirky name of January One that might have had something to do with SOCKS THAT ROCK and Toni at The Fold - RESIST! It's ALL LIES! I did not yell FIRE in a crowded fiber fest, I merely preformed a public service announcement. SOCKS THAT ROCK sock yarn simply ROCKS and since I had already purchased the TEN skeins you see above, I thought everyone else should get the opportunity. But that shit sells faster than Brooks Farm in the hot Maryland Sun and if you wanted your preferred colorways, you needed to get your ass over to Toni's. I was HELPING. And anyone that tells you differently didn't get the color they wanted. ;-)
Besides. A hug from Toni was one of the highlights of my weekend. Man, she ROCKS!
And yes, Vicki is still asleep in the room across from me. And no, I did not sneak into her room today (so far.) I took Georgie's pants out last night. Just in case.

That yarn shot is droolworthy and from your post, I guess it's *the yarn* this time, and not your photography skills, huh? Sounds like a wonderful time...can't wait to hear about it all over the next few days. (Though my wallet is breathing a big sigh of relief that we didn't make it this year.)

Why oh why did I not run over there as soon as you told me... oh right, I did. Why oh why didn't I buy any? Oh well, next time, and I did get some amazing sock yarn elsewhere. Could it be even better than Socks that Rock? Time will tell!

The Fold is SO SO SO wonderful and twenty minutes from my mom's house. I was there the day the new larger skeins of Socks that Rock arrived and got to dig through the boxes to compare the change from the old, small skein colorways to the new, large skein ones. It was almost as good as Rheinbeck, I bet!
Is it pathetic that I saw your pile and immediately thought "Farmhouse, Watermelon Tourmaline, Rockstar..."?

I didn't get any Socks That Rock (what's wrong with me, you might ask...) But I went back to her booth Sunday to get some of that blue-faced Leicester that I was spinning Saturday night. That shit ROCKS!

I wonder if that was you I darted in front of in order to snap up my own Socks That Rock ... that yarn is absoLUTEly amazing. I held myself to two skeins on account of the new oil tank in our basement, but cannot wait to knit it up. I'll content myself with quietly coveting some of the gorgeous yarn you managed to get, and promise myself that I'll get more next year.
So glad you had a good time at Rhinebeck. It was amazing, wasn't it? Looking forward to the rest of your stories ...

When I visited Toni in Illinois in September, I was totally seduced. She is fabulous, and she brought the WHOLE FREAKING STORE to Rhinebeck.

It was fun to meet you Sunday! I came to within a hair of buying a few skeins of that sock yarn myself.......until I thought about the 8 skeins of sock yarn sitting at home... Next year I hope to be at the festival all weekend ;-)!
