C is for

Color

One of my favorite aspects of knitting is the color! I love color in my life - whether it be knitting, spinning, and especially my photography. One of the subjects I love to photograph is botanicals - macro botanicals specifically - and I rarely take a black & white picture. For me, it's the colors of nature that are most appealing. Look here for some of my favorite flower pictures.

And in the great minds think alike category - check out Kimberly's Color Entry as well!

Great photos. I wish I could capture that kind of detail and color in my photos.

Color is GOOD! Think how boring things would be without it.

What great photos! I too love the aspect of color in my knitting. I think that's what I really enjoy dyeing my fiber and yarn...since I wear black all the time I need a little color punch from my knitting.

Lovely post. Colour indeed!

Cara, your photos are amazing. I'm really curious about pricing for the botanicals, would you sell, or licence for a web page?

Thanks for the bright spot! Wonderful, as always. I may be a frequent visitor to your botanical "garden" over the next few weeks -- nice pick-me-up.

I especially like the Crayola picture!

Oh, Cara! There are truly few things as attractive to the human eye as color, and you really seem to know what's what! Your photos are gorgeous. I love the way you seem to get into the heart of things, and capture the time in a bottle of millisecond, for the rest of us to enjoy.

Another thing I love about your photos is that you let us all see the beauty in every day occurances. There is beauty in every second of every single day, if only we take the time to look around us. It inspires me.

Happy Valentine's Day to you, and to G!

PS: If you were married on Aug. 6, you were married on my birthday! How cool does that make me feel? Very Cool!

Oh my gosh, great pictures. I know its already been said, but my first thought was the smell of a new box of crayola's in a brand new pencil case in first grade!

Posted by: delia at February 14, 2006 08:44 AM

Great minds, and all that...color is the "C" thing! Love the pictures. Years ago, I was "into" photography but never really into black & white pictures. After reading your post, I know why. You expressed it. I always just thought I was odd! :-)

Happy Valentine's Day!

Great photos! Love the box of new, pointy crayons!!

Posted by: amanda at February 14, 2006 10:22 AM

Amazing photos - I am 51 years old and I ALWAYS have a box of crayons at home (gently used generally). When I first met my sweetie, he questioned why I had crayons when I didn't have any kids - well duh! - I think everybody ought to have at a minimum the box of 64!! 'Course Sweetie came with a grandson so I have to share with him. All your pics are gorgeous but especially these - color is what makes me a happy girl!! thanks for sharing.

Wonderful "C"; the colors just leap out of the screen!
