Knit Olympics: Day Thirteen: What separates us from the animals

Thumbs. So right now I'm an animal, cause I ain't got no thumbs. But it's all good. I'm thinking of doing one thumb today, maybe, but I have to get things ready for a road trip G & I are taking tomorrow. More info on that later. But back to the mittens: The second mitten is a bit wonky but you know what, I don't care. I'm bored of this project. That's not to say it's a bad project and I do like to see the pattern appearing beneath the needles, but I don't like the yarn. And when I don't like the yarn, forgetaboutit! Ruins a whole project for me. (See Ribby Cardi.) But I'm persevering, if only to show Ann (there's your link for the day, honey bun!) that I will finish. I think she's got some money riding on me to fail. To FAIL people. Ann is betting AGAINST me. But I will WIN! No doubt about it. ;-)

Go Cara GO!! You are so close. Lovin the pink!

They look great! I do love the blue and pink together and the reversed colors are fantastic. But is the second one a bit smaller than the first or is it just a trick of the eyes with the reversed colors? My second one came out bigger, I guess I loosened up and relaxed after the first.

That Ann. I wouldn't trust her if I were you.

When you are knitting the thumbs, think of the Rocky theme. It works for me every time!
They are cute as heck - but, yeah - if you don't enjoy the yarn it's a no-go.

Ann?? Betting against you?? Maybe it's that headcold...
You'll have those thumbs done in no time. The mittens look cool - too bad you don't like the yarn!

Two thumbs and you're done, hon! Woo. They'll go quick, too, then you don't have to look at that yarn ever again.
I love the reverse colors -- that was a GREAT idea. And your name. FYI: I haven't heard from my bookie. ; )

Ann is, as always, the true bluest of friends. The mittens are totally hot, hot, hot!

Oh Cara! They are FAB. How can you not love them absolutely to bits? :-)

All that's left is the thumbs? You rock!

No doubt about it. You'll be done with time to spare. Thumbs are quick.

now Cara, you know I am not the betting kind! but if I were, I admit would have bet against you. Actually that's not true .... out of loyalty I would have bet on you. And then I would have watched in horror as you started assembling furniture, flirting with other projects, planning long distance parties and countless other distractions.

and another thing ..... have you been to Carole's site today?? someone is finished with her project and is wearing a gold medal as we speak.
ahem.

They look great to me!! I don't see any wonkiness. :)

awwwww now sweetie- dont you know that real friendship is about betting on your friends when they are down :)
I know about the yarn bit- but hopefully you will like wearing them more than knitting them.
Bring on the opposable thumbs!

God, those are GOOD. Love that you made them fraternal. Love that you wrote Cara and 2006. Just wonderful. Gold medal contender!

I thought what separated us from the animals was our ability to accessorize. The thumb thing is also true though.
Those look so fun. Love the colors, love evertyhing about them. You are going to rock those thumbs out supa-dupa fast, and this will be over before you know it!
