EXCLUSIVE! EXCLUSIVE! EXCLUSIVE!
That is until you see it somewhere else. Just remember where you saw it FIRST. (I joke! I'm joking my friends!)
Today is La's Birthday, so I thought I'd give some stuff away!!!
Introducing....drumroll please....

Two BRAND NEW COLORWAYS from Blue Moon Fiber Arts Socks That Rock. THEY ARE NOT AVAILABLE FOR SALE until sometime in the New Year so please don't bother the Blue Moon folks. As soon are they are available, I will let you know. And the best part? Part of the proceeds from the sale of G-Rocks will go to fight Skin Cancer!!! [Ed note: this was my error. $2.00 per skein will go to fight Skin Cancer.] THANK YOU BLUE MOON! You know I love you! Again, these colors are not available to the public yet - when they are I will certainly let you know.
BUT!!
You can win them here. (You knew that was coming....)

You didn't think I was going to let the birthday pass without a giveaway did you? Silly, silly! Winners will receive one skein each of G-Rocks and January One (Lightweight Socks That Rock), one of my beloved Orange Chibis (god I love these needles so much!), a box of my Yarn Cards and three Mini-Soaks. I'm a complete Soak convert, so I thought I'd pass on the love.
How do you win? Here we go.
I'm currently knitting what will most likely be the last sock I knit this year. I want you to guess which sock I'm knitting. Here are the clues:
1) It is a MATE to a single sock already knit.
2) I may or may not have knit the first sock sometime this year.
3) It may or may not be a pattern I have knit before.
4) It may or may not be knit out of Socks That Rock.
5) All of the first socks have been featured on the blog, on my foot.
6) There are SIX possible socks that it could be.
But only one is the right answer. TELL ME THE PATTERN, YARN & COLORWAY IF APPLICABLE. Leave your guess in the comments. Comments will close on December 31, 10 AM EST. One guess per person. There will be SIX winners - the first three people to get the correct answer will win. Then three winners will be chosen at random. Winners will be announced at (or close to) December 31, 11:59 PM EST.
Happy Birthday TO ME!

I'm so bad at these-so a guess for Heat Wave Sock(s)? This is the first year I've been reading before your birthday! I know on New Year's Eve, i'll be thinking "3,2, 1 Happy Birthday!"

How about the magic Sock Hop Knee Highs?
Posted by: Joan at December 28, 2006 12:55 PM
Um. I have no idea but I want that yarn. NOW!
Posted by: scout at December 28, 2006 12:56 PM
Wave yarn in my face and I forget all my manners. Congratultions for having a sock yarn named after you! Now we can say you're a stRock Star!
Posted by: Carol at December 28, 2006 12:57 PM
You do know how to throw a party!
Posted by: margene at December 28, 2006 12:58 PM
i'm thinking jawalker???
Posted by: roni at December 28, 2006 01:01 PM
Did you ever finish those Potamus socks? Hmmmm. That's my guess, the Potamus socks in STR Sunstone. And Colonel Mustard in the conservatory with the candlestick. Yeah.
By the way, congrats on having gorgeous yarn named in your and G's honor! It really is stunningly beautiful.
Posted by: Sarah at December 28, 2006 01:13 PM
My money is on the first Koigu Knee Sock you wrote about in September
Posted by: Nana at December 28, 2006 01:14 PM
No idea about the socks! I haven't been reading the blog long enough.
Anyway, I'm assuming your birthday is January 1 (duh). That's my birthday too! Did you know it's the least common birthday in the US? Pretty cool huh?
Posted by: Emily at December 28, 2006 01:16 PM
Congrats on the yarn being named for you two! Very nice colors. My guess is going to be: Socks That Rock yarn inHot Flash colorway inJayWalkers pattern.
Posted by: karen w at December 28, 2006 01:19 PM
I'm guessing the STR sunstone Pomatomus.
What a great way to celebrate your birthday!!!
Posted by: Nell at December 28, 2006 01:21 PM
Sock Hop American Pie Knee Highs.
Posted by: kelsey at December 28, 2006 01:23 PM
I'm guessing Socks that Rock -- Pebble Beach (featured in August), with the funky purl row near the toe.
Your yarn photography is magnificent (as is your knitting)! I'm a few inches into a short-row fair isle sweater that I found when I wanted to do the short-row stripe one I first saw on your blog. Couldn't get the pattern so easily (I have it now), and got this idea in my head about a sweater with short-rows. So I wound up starting the Short-Row Fair Isle from Loop-d-Loop, which is a little crazy, since I've only been knitting for about a year. Thanks for the inspiration!
Posted by: marci at December 28, 2006 01:23 PM
My guess is Sock Hop American Pie knee highs. I love your namesake yarns...just gorgeous!
Posted by: Doris at December 28, 2006 01:25 PM
I'm going to have to go with the STR Pomatomus in Sunstone. Just looking back at all of your socks wants me to run home and make some!
Posted by: Siew at December 28, 2006 01:27 PM
My guess is Socks That Rock Lightweight Pomatomus in the Sunstone colorway.
That is really cool of Blue Moon Fiber Arts. Congrats!
Posted by: Helena at December 28, 2006 01:27 PM
I feel like it was a knee high. Of STR, but I wouldn't know the colorway if it bit me on the nose. I love that you have colorways named after you and your beloved! I will have to get them and put them next to my "Lucy" colorway. Then I'll only need "Harlotty" to have the complete set.
Happy, happy birthday week!
Posted by: Suzanne at December 28, 2006 01:27 PM
1. Happy Birthday to you!
2. Wish I hadn't spent time "looking for the answer" and just guessed, b/c now there are 13 commments and before, just 6....boo hoo.
3. Congrats on the sock colors & names.
4. I vote Jaywalker--no idea about colors....
Posted by: Lisa S. at December 28, 2006 01:28 PM
Hot Flash jaywalker of course! I mean, pink is my favorite color and yours as well? I saw your pink wedding shoes and knew that pink HAD to be your favorite color! Oh yeah, and the Tahiti colorway roving your spun up inspired me to get my own from Spunky Hats! BEAUTIFUL STUFF!!
Posted by: stephanie at December 28, 2006 01:28 PM
Happy almost birthday!
I think it's the sock-hop knee highs. In the American pie colorway.
Those were gorgeous...if those aren't the ones, then you should finish those anyway, they were too pretty and fabulous.
Posted by: Rachel at December 28, 2006 01:31 PM
My guess is:
The Embossed Leaves Sock in Koigu #P704.
Posted by: ann-marie at December 28, 2006 01:31 PM
I'm going to guess its a Jaywalker on STR.
Happy Birthday!
Posted by: Cat at December 28, 2006 01:35 PM
I bet it is the Big Fat Greek Socks! if I had a second guess I would say the Toe up socks. But you are in colorful mood these days :)
Posted by: Laritza at December 28, 2006 01:36 PM
I think it's Pomatomus in STR Sunstone. So that's my guess.
Very cool, by the way - you finally have your own STR colorway! It's about time! And it's is also very cool that the proceeds from G-Rock will go to fight Skin Cancer. I think I may have to buy a couple of skeins once it becomes available.
Posted by: Maritza at December 28, 2006 01:37 PM
I'm going with the toe up, STR in Pebble Beach. But I really hope it's the MBFGs...I would love to see them finished. In reviewing your socks, I'm just so taken with the colors. You have to love STR.
Posted by: amyH at December 28, 2006 01:38 PM
I'm guessing it is a mate to a single sock and that is as far as I can go!?
Posted by: carla at December 28, 2006 01:39 PM
Those little Soak packages look like condoms. ;)

Jaywalkers in STR Hot Flash. :)
Posted by: Mary at December 28, 2006 01:48 PM
I'm so blinded by your pretty new knee highs that I've got them on the brain. BUT I'm going with Jaywalkers, Socks That Rock, some color I can't think of now.
Happy Birthday! And happy STR colorway!
Posted by: hyunjee at December 28, 2006 01:53 PM
The Koigu knee high, color 1160 and P214? Happy Birthday :o)
Posted by: Jackie at December 28, 2006 01:55 PM
I think it's the Koigu Knee Sock from September, in Koigu, a deliciously pink and brown colorway.
LOVE the G-Rocks! that is so awesome!
I'm loving the Soak too...smells so delicious.
Posted by: Carrie at December 28, 2006 01:55 PM
I'm going with Socks That Rock in the Sunstone colorway and the Pomatomus pattern. I love that colorway! Happy early birthday to you!

thanks for your help today.
hope you have a great bday.
Posted by: michelle at December 28, 2006 02:10 PM
That's fantastic about the skin cancer donation. Dale has a mole on his face that has to come off and I'm very nervous about the whole thing. Love the new colors - congratulations!
Posted by: Carole at December 28, 2006 02:11 PM
Is it the Koigu knee sock from this past fall?
How awesome that all the proceeds from G-Rocks go to fight skin cancer? Go yarn go!
Posted by: Jenn at December 28, 2006 02:16 PM
I'm probably wrong, but I am guessing the Sock Hop (in the American Pie colorway) knee socks in that knee sock pattern you posted on your blog.
Posted by: Anita at December 28, 2006 02:17 PM
Awesome colors! I'm going to guess the second sock will be the Sock Hop Knee Highs in Blue Heaven - because we all know you can't get enough of the knee highs!
Posted by: Jody at December 28, 2006 02:17 PM
Right away, I'm looking at the picture and I see those little vial-like things and then you're talking about G-love and proceeds and skin cancer and I thought you were giving away little sunscreen samples. ; ) Soakin' up the sunscreen! Really, though? I'm going to have to find some SOAK around here.
Woohoooo, it's birthday time.
Posted by: Vicki at December 28, 2006 02:19 PM
Happy Birthday Cara (four days early)! I'm a January baby too! (the 6th)!
I'm guessing STR Hotflash Jaywalkers.
Congrats on the personalized colorways!
Posted by: Leah at December 28, 2006 02:20 PM
Being at home with the Biscuit these past few days has worn out my guessing muscles. However, my powers of ESP seem to be pinging loud and clear, because JUST THIS MORNING I wondered to myself when BMFA was going to name a colorway for you! Only I thought it would be blues, for some reason. It's beautiful, naturally.
Posted by: JulieFrick at December 28, 2006 02:20 PM
woohoo! Thanks for the birthday shout-out!
What an awesome honor to have such beautiful yarn named after you. Of course, with all the STR yarn you buy, you've probably already put all their children through college, so that's the least they could do!
I can't wait to see who wins the contest, and what the right answer is. As for me, I'm totally clueless, but you already knew that.
Happy Birthday to me!...and you in 4 days!
Posted by: La at December 28, 2006 02:22 PM
Hot Flash STR Jaywalkers. And happy birthday in advance!
Posted by: Chris at December 28, 2006 02:22 PM

my guess is... the second purple koigu knee sock? hrm!
Posted by: jess at December 28, 2006 02:23 PM

And it could be a knee high but I will say Pomatomus in STR Sunstone.

Posted by: kelly jo at December 28, 2006 02:30 PM
Since you just finished the other pair, I bet you're on a Knee High kick again. So the Sock Hop American Pie Knee Highs.
Posted by: Natalie at December 28, 2006 02:30 PM
i just spent way too much time trying to figure this out! i'm still not sure but i'm guessing sock hop american pie knee highs.

Posted by: Jen at December 28, 2006 02:39 PM
These are my guesses:
Pomotomus in Blue Moon: Dutch Canyon,
Hot Flash Jaywalkers,
Embossed Leaves Sock in Koigu #P704,
Jaywalker in Panzanite,
Walking on Sunshine Socks, Trekking XXL Crazy Strips Color 38,
And your Retro Rib socks.
I just did a quick run through of your entries tagged with "Socks", so I probably missed a finished mate. That was better than filling out my ACT forms. :]
Posted by: Elizabeth at December 28, 2006 02:40 PM
There's absolutely no way I'll win, because I never do, but hope springs eternal, and I so love those colorways. So... I pick the Koigu Knee Socks in colors 1160 and P214.
Posted by: Lucia at December 28, 2006 02:42 PM
I'm going for Socks That Rock, Pomatomus, Sunstone. Gorge new colours by the way!

Posted by: Sylvia at December 28, 2006 02:46 PM
ok, i think that you wanted to change it up a bit and go back to the toe up socks you were working on..
"It's a toe up sock - STR - Pebble Beach colorway - old put up" from this post:
http://www.januaryone.com/archives/2006/08/the_miseducation.php
that's my guess and i'm probably wrong but i'm sticking with it! :)
Posted by: gleek at December 28, 2006 02:46 PM
You knit a lotta single socks, lady, but I'm betting that for A. cold january days to come, B. birthday-inspired nostalgia, and C. mid-holiday need for nearly mindless, concentration-free work, you're knitting a mate to the purply knee sock from September in Koigu P214 and (first-bought sock yarn) 1160.
Posted by: Jen at December 28, 2006 02:47 PM
Sock Hop American Pie Knee Highs
And I'm in love with STR!!!
Happy Birthday!
Posted by: Dene at December 28, 2006 02:47 PM
Knee Highs in Sock Hop yarn in blue colorway (american pie??) that you were spinning--- featured in August (mid-august--- the 15th??)
:) Kate
PS_ G and you totally deserve a colorway! I love that they complement each other!
Posted by: Kate at December 28, 2006 02:49 PM
Happy birthday and congratulations for two beautiful colorways!
My guess is jaywalker in the STR Hot Flash colorway!
Have a wonderful birthday!
Posted by: SigMa at December 28, 2006 02:51 PM
I love how you use your birthday as an excuse to give to others. Helps make the day better for everyone, ya know :)
I'm gonna throw caution ot the wind, go against my gut, and guess the Embossed leaves socks. Here's hoping...
Posted by: Jenna at December 28, 2006 02:52 PM
My guess is Jaywalkers, STR Lightweight in Hot Flash. Happy birthday!
Posted by: Kris at December 28, 2006 02:54 PM
Embossed Leaves in Koigu
Posted by: Vanessa at December 28, 2006 02:55 PM
I'm going to say the Sock Hop American Pie Knee Highs (knit on #1 Addis, I think). Hope the socks go well!
Posted by: Jenna at December 28, 2006 02:55 PM
Seriously...you have the best prizes! Love those colors. I'm guessing the January Socks in STR spinel.
Posted by: Christine at December 28, 2006 02:58 PM
I'm most likely wrong, but I'm going to go out on a limb and say the Walking on Sunshine Trekking socks (color 38), in plain st st. I think they're from 2005. Did they get finished? Just curious.
Posted by: Gidget at December 28, 2006 02:58 PM
I'm guessing the koigu knee high in the 1160 colorway.
Congrats on the yarn in your honor! Happy birthday to us January babies (19th for me)
Posted by: Ariel at December 28, 2006 03:00 PM
I'll go with the STR Hot Flash Jaywalkers. It's all about the Jaywalkers!
Posted by: Theresa at December 28, 2006 03:00 PM
My guess is the Embossed Leaves in Koigu #P704.
Posted by: Margaret at December 28, 2006 03:05 PM
Embossed Leaves socks in Koigu?
Posted by: carole at December 28, 2006 03:07 PM
retro rib??? You finally got me out of lurking... I've been loving your blog, and especially your photos for more than a year now!
Posted by: ksfishgirl at December 28, 2006 03:08 PM
I will also guess the STR Sunstone Pomatomus. At least, I would like to see a finished pair of those!
Happy birthday! Very cool colorways for you and G!
Posted by: seedless grape at December 28, 2006 03:11 PM
My guess would have to be the STR Hot Flash Jaywalkers (or should I say Jaywalker). I'm planning on attempting my first jaywalker very soon jus tto see what all the hubbub's about.
Thanks for commenting about my mojo but oddly enough, I've knit baby sweaters before that's the not the problem. For some reason my fingers freeze up when it comes time to knit an adult sweater. I get all anxious and everything. I'm kinda weird that way. Oh well, I'm planning on facing my phobia very soon. Seems like I have a lot planned for 2007 huh?
Hope you have a wonderful birthday!
Posted by: Chante at December 28, 2006 03:19 PM
No Way - - I have no idea what socks you are knitting - but we share the same birthday. I'm probably older (born 1954) but have no idea where those years went and hope I don't look or act my age. (At least my daughter tells me so!)
Happy Birthday - thanks for your blog - - I much enjoy reading it and seeing your creativity. What would the world do without us Capricorns?
Posted by: Anna Marie at December 28, 2006 03:28 PM
I had a lot of fun looking at your sock collection! And I will go with the Pomatomus as well, in the STR Sunstone. Mostly because you liked knitting them so much.
I had done the Embossed Leaves Socks and was also unnsure about the pattern and the toe, but once I finished them, I fell in love, and my day is special when I'm wearing those socks.
Do you ever feel like your days are set by what socks you put on? Like, I'm in a Jaywalker mood today or something? Just wondering!
Have a wonderful birthday! What a great thing that Blue Moon has done here! Knitters rock!
Posted by: Kathy at December 28, 2006 03:28 PM
happy early birthday!!!
my guess:
koigu socks, from an Ann Budd pattern...the one mentioned in the oct. 5, 2006 post
Posted by: irina at December 28, 2006 03:29 PM
The Poms are the first that come to mind -STR in a light orange. Beautiful colorways and love the little Soak packets. (I have yet to try-what's your favorite fragrance?)
Posted by: brooke at December 28, 2006 03:32 PM
I want to say your Pomatomus in STR Sunstone since I just started my own Pomatomus, but my official guess will be your Sock Hop knee highs in the American Pie colorway.
Posted by: C. at December 28, 2006 03:33 PM
I'll guess with STR Jaywalkers in Hot Flash. That's so cool you have your own colorways. I can't get enough STR - good thing sock yarn does't count on my yarn diet!
Posted by: Louise at December 28, 2006 03:33 PM
I'm going to guess the Hot Flash STR Jaywalkers. Because it seems like you're going for comfortable familiar knits right now, and nothing's more comfortable and familiar than the Jaywalkers! (I made two pairs for Christmas myself.)
Congratulations on the GORGEOUS colourways! And happy pre-birthday!
Posted by: SarahJanet at December 28, 2006 03:35 PM
Hmmm I'm going to go with the Embossed Leaves socks, in Koigu #P704...
Posted by: LEO at December 28, 2006 03:37 PM

My guess is the plain stockinette socksin the crow mountain farms heat wave colorway.
Happy Knitting!

Is it Sock Hop American Pie Knee Highs?
Posted by: Devon at December 28, 2006 03:42 PM
Delurking to guess the STR Hotflash Jaywalkers.
Thank you & Blue Moon for doing this. We lost a friend to skin cancer a few years ago, very much in the prime of his life. Please, everyone, get your moles checked! Every single year! Please!
Posted by: Judy at December 28, 2006 03:48 PM
Did you ever finish the mate for the Walking on Sunshine socks? Even though I know you didn't love that yarn, I'm thinking you're walking on sunshine after G's good news!
Posted by: The Purloined Letter at December 28, 2006 03:50 PM
I'm pretty sure all the sock possibilities have been covered, but I just had to delurk to say that those STR colors are gorgeous! If I don't luck out in the random draw I'll be sure to order them when they're available.
Posted by: Denise at December 28, 2006 03:55 PM
I'm thinking Embossed Leaves Socks in Koigu KPPPM #P704.
Posted by: nikki at December 28, 2006 03:56 PM
My guess is Pomatomus, STR Sunstone.
Congrats on having such gorgeous yarn named for you and G :)
Posted by: Julie at December 28, 2006 04:00 PM
Yikes! 97 comments already?
Gorgeous, gorgeous colors of yarn. Do give us (late arrivers) a *heads up* when STR are selling these colorways. What a lovely gesture on their part.
Posted by: Jan at December 28, 2006 04:02 PM
Alright, I've gone through and tallied up the comments and then searched your archives. Basically, I'm doing research for this one.
First, I think there are more than 6 possible candidates. Either that or you've done some ripping you haven't told us about...
But that aside, the commenters are fairly well split between the Pomatomus in Sunstone, the Sock Hop Knee Highs in American Pie, and the Hot Flash Jaywalkers. I think it's a battle between the novelty of the Pomatomus, the current knee-high predisposition (plus you really seem to love that Sock Hop yarn!), and the comfort knitting of the trusty Jaywalkers.
My vote, however, breaking from the herd, is for the Walking on Sunshine Socks in Trekking XXL 38. Finishing this pair allows you to get some closure for the end of the year (the first one is over a year old), plus they're simple mindless stockinette, which might help you find your knitting groove again post-Ariann. As an added bonus, if I'm right, I'm one of the first three to vote for it (my chance is gone for most of the others), provided that no one has commented while I've been typing this novel. And if I'm not, I still have a chance in the random draw!
Oh yeah, happy early birthday, too.
Posted by: Sarah at December 28, 2006 04:03 PM
(incidentally, I went through your entire archives, and could only find 5...)
I have no clue, but the tally as of yet on what other people think is:
Jaywalkeres in STR Hot Flash - 20
Knee Highs in Sock Hop American Pie - 12
Knee Highs in Purple Koigu - 9
Embossed leaves in #P704 Koigu - 7
Toe Up socks in STR NameIForgot - 4
Generic Walking On Sunshine Socks - 3
I didn't count the ones that were voted for that we haven't actually seen on your feet.
Smart money is on the WOS since there's only 2 of those so far. But The Hot Flash jaywalkers are pretty popular.
Honestly, don't have a clue, I'll be back in a few minutes when I've made up my mind
Posted by: Mags at December 28, 2006 04:07 PM
I'm going to go with the Jaywalkers in STR Hotflash. When one is reaching for something to knit "between projects", the comfort of STR and the tried and true Jaywalkers pattern is just the thing. Damn bloglines for being so late in updating its feeds so I'm late responding!
Posted by: Renee at December 28, 2006 04:14 PM
STR Pomatomus in sandstone. Happy Birthday soon!
Posted by: Stacey at December 28, 2006 04:14 PM
Walking on Sunshine from 9/05 Trekking XXL Crazy Stripes in Color 38! You said you were casting on for the 2nd, but I never saw it???
The 1st one is a beautiful softly colored simple sock and I think it wants a mate badly!
Posted by: Pat at December 28, 2006 04:16 PM
STR Sunstone Pomatomus.
Happy Birthday early!!!

Posted by: Julie at December 28, 2006 07:17 PM
I think you are making the mate to your Sock Hop American Pie kneehighs, using the "shaping knee sock" pattern from hjsstudio. I must say, your beautiful kneehighs have inspired me. I need some red kneehighs to go with 2 different skirts that I no longer wear because now I will only wear hand-knit socks. If I begin doing kneehighs, then a whole new genre will open up to me! Thanks for the inspiration, and HAPPY BIRTHDAY!
Posted by: Nancy at December 28, 2006 07:30 PM
Hmmmm, I know I'm wrong but my guess is the I believe in Magic Sock Hop Socks that protected you from getting a ticket :)

Well I've searched back over your archives (btw I love the photo of you in fatigues and the story to go with it) and my guess will have to be the Toe Up sock pattern (with Deb's suggestion of a heel best described by the Simple Toe Up Sox on 2 Circular Needles)in the STR colorway Pebble Beach.
STR in your own colorway, how cool is that! Happy Birthday!
Posted by: Michelle at December 29, 2006 12:49 AM
I'm going with the Sock Hop kneehighs in that red/black colorway that I adore and can never seem to get my hands on. Unless you already finished those? Ugh, I'm guessing wildly here.

Posted by: Schrodinger at December 29, 2006 12:33 PM
What a wonderful new year to knit more socks... Just like you, I knit one Pomatomus and one Jaywalker and have not finished the mates to either socks. Clearly both will receive lovely mates in the new year--- although the pomatomus will be first.

STR sunstone Pomatomus socks.

Posted by: Michelle at December 29, 2006 04:19 PM
I have to be honest - with nearly 200+ comments, I don't think I could come up with a sock that hasn't already been mentioned! I first thought of the American Pie Sock Hop knee highs - I did love those colors...
(and the finished pair you just crossed off of the WIP list might have been the inspiration?)

Knee high socks, sock hop yarn in American Pie colorway!
I love your blog.. have a GREAT Birthday!
Posted by: Lee at December 29, 2006 04:49 PM
I think it's your Koigu knee sock in purple in colorway P214. I try to keep up to date and I can't recall ever seeing a second one to this one. I also really want to knit some knee highs so this one is my guess.
Posted by: Kimberly at December 29, 2006 04:52 PM
First and foremost HAPPY BIRTHDAY in advance! Now to my guess, I think it will be the Koigu knee socks that uses the 1160 colorway from your very first sock and also the P214 colorway that you blogged about on 9/13.
Just ordered some Soak this morning from Spritely Goods! Can't wait to soak some handknit socks!

Posted by: Lauren at December 29, 2006 07:23 PM
I'm thinking that the Jaywalkers in Socks That Rock, colorway: Hot Flash would be in your favorite pattern and yarn, and would provide that last pair to close off the year!
Have a great birthday. My Dad's birthday is December 31st!
Posted by: hanna at December 29, 2006 07:36 PM
pattern : knee high socks
yarn: sock hop, plus your handspun for the heels and toes

Posted by: Teyani at December 29, 2006 07:57 PM
Well, I'm glad that I'm sitting here under 5 ft of snow and nowhere I can go because this sure takes some investigating.
I've narrowed it down to three: Embossed Leaves in Koigu P704; STR Pebble Beach; Koigu Knee Sock in Colors #1160 and P214. These are the three that I saw as a finished sock (not just progress). although it seems to easy, I am going with the September Koigu Knee Sock. Looking back in your archives, I have really enjoyed re-reading posts and looking at all your wonderful pictures! Happy early Birthday!
Posted by: Allegra at December 29, 2006 08:16 PM

Beautiful yarns named after the both of you! Congrats!
I would say it's the January Sock (pattern from the Pattern-a-day Calendar) in STR Spinel. I'm probably totally wrong, but there ya go!
I forgot my own father's birthday today, so I wish you a HAPPY BIRTHDAY early, because I'm sure, since I can't remember the birthday of the man who is partly responsible for my existence, I probably won't remember yours, no matter how cool I think your blog is! :)
Posted by: Amanda at December 29, 2006 10:00 PM
My guess is the Koigu knee highs, purple color P214. I would love to see your Pomatomus sunstones completed though--they are beautiful! But I'm sticking with my theory that you are on a knee high sock kick!
Have a great birthday celebration!! Happy 2007 too.

If it is not the Pomotamus socks (Sunstone Socks that Rock), it should be! I love my pomotamus socks :)
Posted by: Dawn at December 29, 2006 11:04 PM
Such great colors - I'm signed up for the sock club so maybe they'll grace us with one of y'alls fabulous colors.
I'm guessing Socks That Rock Lightweight Pomatomus in the Sunstone colorway because I love it for a wintery project BUT I never could find a picture of it on your foot so I'm probably wrong (as well as REALLY late getting in the game!)
Posted by: robin at December 29, 2006 11:08 PM
Happy Birthday! Happy New Year!! And congratulations on the fabby eponymous STR colorways!!!
As for your current sock... er, dunno. I'm not entirely sure how many UFO socks *I* have, so for sure I'm not tracking anyone else's. I'm guessing Koigu knee high in 1160 and P214.
Thanks for a wonderful fiber-y year (Spin-Out was my first time spinning in public) and for a great way to ring out the old year, ring in the new!

I'm going to guess the Sunstone Socks That Rock Pomatomus pattern. Those socks, along with all of your others, are just gorgeous, but that's my choice! :)

Priorities first. Happy Birthday. Hope it is a good one. Secondly, a random guess. Pomotomus in STR Sunstone? Throw that in the hat?

I'll guess .... um......Jaywalker? Only cuz once I figured out the RIGHT way to do the double decrease, I love the pattern! On pair #3 right now out of Yarn Pirate.

I'm guessing the camel toe sock, mostly because it made me laugh so hard.

Crazy! Look at all these comments! Firstly, hoppy birdies, two ewes! (I know, it's not original, but I think it's cute so I'm going to keep saying it.) Secondly, anytime you want caffeine-free soda, you let me know. I live in Utah I can supply you, baby. (We're talking caffeine-free versions of everything...) And finally, I'll say a Jaywalker Sock Hop in Heatwave.

I've been lurking for quite a while, but my lust for those yarns has drawn me out of the shadows! My guess is the Pomatomus socks in the STR Sunstone colorway. And while I'm posting I want to thank you for writing so candidly about your thoughts and experiences this last year - it's been very inspirational to read.

I'm guessing the Jaywalkers in STR Hot Flash, since you knit so many of them this year. :)
Happy Birthday!

Several days late and dollars short...i am going to guess that you are working on the mate for the handpainted purple koigu knee hights (you have just finished a similar pair so have all the tweaks in mind).
I am going to guess : Shaping knees socks from Holly Shaltz (not what you used for the mate, but it slips) in koigu 214/1160.
Happy birthday for tomorrow. Round these parts of north England today is the day when grandparents tell of seeing a man with as many noses as days in the year (leaving many grandchildren scarred at the thought of 365 noses on some poor bloke)
