If it's a boy...

his name shall be PLAXICO. But only because we already have an ELI in the family.

YAY GIANTS!!!

I totally pissed my pants on the play before the final touchdown. And I finished a pair of socks! What a night!

I second that! Yay Giants! I'm a HUGE Colts fan, but was routing for the Giants since, you know, my team wasn't in it this year. If I have any boys, my top names include Peyton & Eli. :) Congrats Giants fans!

Right after they won, my husband told me that Manning would be a great boy name. lol

Love those Manning boys! Of course, I'm a Mississippi girl and we've loved our Manning boys for years here. My husband grew up watching Archie play.

Yay, Giants is right! Take that, Tiki Barber - Eli can too play and lead a team - all the way!

Yay, GIANTS!

Since the Giants braved the cold to squeak by Vicki and my Packers, I was rooting for them to beat the Patriots! Hooray! What a wild last quarter....

GO GIANTS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

After the touchdown, I told my son (Andrew) thaht we are changing his name to Plaxico! WOO-HOO! What a game! Glad you didn't go into early labor :-).

I'm not a big football fan. In fact, I watch one game a year, Superbowl, an that is for the commercials. Was trying to knit last night but had to put it down to watch the game. Holy Cow what a game. There were amazing passes and catches on both sides.

Glad the Giants won but still have a crush on Tom Brady.

The mood was not quite so celebratory here in Massachusetts. Sigh.

Woot! We used to joke that we'd name our kid Tiki, but no more... ELI'S THE MAN.

ps. I finished my Giant's hats and I am sure that brought us luck.

They sure did play an amazing defensive game, and they pulled that one out of the hat in the final seconds. I don't even care about football, but it was an exciting game. Though my poor suffering husband's team didn't win. :)

God, I love the name Plaxico. What a freakin' incredible game! YAY GIANTS! We were all hollering at the TV.

Posted by: Carrie at February 4, 2008 08:33 AM

Ha ha! My husband and I had been joking about naming our next kid Plaxico (Plaxi would be a cute girl's nickname). But we live in MA so that is certainly out now.

I thought i was going to hurl during those last 35 seconds of the game last night. I honestly think the Giants just wanted it more and didn't get psyched out by all the nay-sayers. I don't recall seeing a more exciting Superbowl game during my lifetime. That was really something.

Posted by: regina at February 4, 2008 09:37 AM

What a great game, had me breathless! But, ehm, Plaxico? I second Manning! Or Payton (my hero, sigh...)!
Not much longer to go now for you, is it? Enjoy the last weeks of your pregnancy and I hope you have a delivery as speedy as mine (first one 3h15m, second one FORTY minutes, yes, from first ouch to out: FORTY).

Posted by: Ammerins at February 4, 2008 09:41 AM

Ha ha ha! My husband turned to me during the game and said "If we have another kid, we're naming him Plaxico!" (We're not!) But seriously, Eli was on our list if
Sophie had been a boy and I still really love that name.

I didn't have a favorite last night, but man, that was an exciting game.

YEA!!!!!! I am without a voice today! SO EXCITING

Posted by: margaux at February 4, 2008 11:40 AM

I'm glad someone is happy. We Pats fans are devastated. I remarked on Plaxico, too. Quite a name!

Posted by: Julia at February 4, 2008 12:37 PM

woot!

My friend said the exact same thing last night. We've also discussed other names for her manchildren including Jock (clearly he'll be a quarterback), Thor (who will be an offensive lineman protecting his slightly smarter brother), and Inky (who just sounds fast, so he must be a wide receiver)

Posted by: Jen at February 4, 2008 03:56 PM

Love Plaxico! Was it just me, or were you looking at all of the names and thinking "hummm"... (OK, so I'm most likely having a girl, but you never know!)
My personal name theory - Gibril Wilson probably took up playing football so that he would be too cool to be called "gerbil." :)

Best game ever! I almost threw out my manning jersey at the beginning of the season out of frustration, but was i glad I got to wear it yesterday!

Posted by: Kym at February 5, 2008 09:36 PM

HA! I watched the game with two totally non sports people who are about 10 weeks pregnant. Her dad is a total Giants fan. We told them that Plaxico was a perfect name! Funny, they didn't go for it, but I think that may be the in-utero nickname at least around our house.
