Moving Day
Today we move. Georgie and I have been mondo sentimental the last few days as we've lived in our building for 18 years. Over 18 years. We grew up here - TOGETHER. When we moved in here lo those 18 years ago I was 21 and he was 27 and now we're old(er.) As much as we want to leave and are excited for this new chapter, it's really sad. It truly is the end of an era.
Also fate continued to show me that while we don't have the best luck, we don't have the worst luck either. We got an offer on the apartment yesterday. It might not be THE offer, but it's an offer and traffic has ramped up considerably in the last week or so. There may be an end to this yet.
I'm not sure when I'll be back on line - Verizon has proven itself to be just as wonderful as the cable companies of old - but as soon as I am I'll check back in.
Okay. There are still lots of boxes to pack. Movers will be here in two hours.

All the best on the move. It's a good sign that you are looking back on the time spent where you are as it speaks to the life you've lived together.
Enjoy both the look back and the movement forward.
How's that for blechy sentiment? I believe it, but I hate sounding like a Hallmark card that you got as a kid from older relatives.

Good luck and best wishes for your new home! It is good that you've thought about the time you've spent in your old home -- it's so easy to get caught up in the move and forget the emotional significance of leaving a home. Hope everything goes well in your move.

Good luck on selling the apt. I'm sure that whatever good offer you get, it can't match the wonderful memories you have. There's alot to be said for growing up together.

Congrats on the move! I can only imagine how hard it must be to leave those 18 years behind...but now you get to build 18 new ones. I hope it is a seamless and easy move for you all.
